Today, we have a brand new Remarkable Realm! We had quite a lot of realms back then but today’s a special one! It is made by Brave Seagull and it’s a Poptanium stash! Boy, that’s a lot of Poptanium!

First, you can visit the realm by entering the code: 9thzx. Now, you can grab as much as many Poptanium bars as you can! This is what the realm looks like:

The first scene has 254 (in my count) Poptanium bars! If you collect them all, (please don’t be greedy) you can get 2,540 Poptaniums! (It’s kinda weird that it says ‘100’ but it only gives 10.) Awesome, right? There’s more!

The realm has Poptanium bars everywhere— on the roof, underground, on the fireplace and even the garden! Not only that, if you go to the scene on the left, you will spot a whale with more Poptanium bars in and on it! If you manage to collect them all, you will receive 430 Poptaniums! There’s more on the right side. :P

Now, on the right side, there are more Poptanium bars! On a crystal castle, there are 46 Poptanium bars which gives you 460 Poptaniums! Amazing! Now, let’s head on to the far right side.

For the next scene, there are two crystal buildings with more Poptaniums! The first buiding contains 45 bars which gives 450 Poptaniums and the second building has 30 bars which gives 300 Poptaniums. In total, you can get 750 Poptaniums!

For the last scene, it has a crystal building shaped like a letter “P” and has more Poptanium bars! Here, you can collect 45 bars which is equivalent to 450— now, you have a lot of Poptaniums to build your own stash with! :)

Overall, you will have 4,630 Poptaniums! Wow, how much did Brave Seagull spend doing all of these?  Now, you can make your own realm creation or make a stash of your own! This realm deserves a big thumbs up. :)

On the other hand, there’s new sur-prizes waiting for you when you log-in to Poptropica! They’re from TombQuest and we’re going to discuss the prizes one by one. :)

The first prize is the Mummy Follower. As what the name implies, a Mummy will follow you everywhere you go. (Extra tip: You can costumize the Mummy’s head if you want to.)

The last and second prize is the Scorpion Swarm. When you use the card, your player wears the hat and when you press the spacebar, a swarm of scorpions will run across the screen. :)

I debated myself about this quite a while, but I had to go with BlazingAngel123‘s icon – it’s just awesome. I love her style and how she made it a square ratio (which is half the work in this case!).

Second Place

I can’t help but make this second place: Spotted Dragon‘s pic is epic. I love the style, the line art, the color – it’s a good blend and just portrays my Poptropican well. Good job!

(and no, I have no regrets for making one of the PHB authors a winner :p)

First Place

The first prize goes to Muzzki! This piece shows my Poptropican (as well as some others) as I would imagine him. The colorful background and overall quality of the piece is to be expected from art by Muzzki, and this instance is no exception!

From the giant light bulb balloon and the overall whimsical feel to this piece, this is definitely my pick. And she even included a pic for my recent birthday!

Thanks to everyone who entered in this contest! I had so much fun receiving art – we got 18 pieces of art in whole – from people I never would have thought to make them! I didn’t expect this contest to be such a hit, but I’m glad it did! We may do something similar to this in the future.

Heyyo Poptropicans, it’s Ultimate iPad Expert here to bring you some BIG news about the Poptropica Wiki!

If you’ve never heard of the wiki, here’s a little definition. The Poptropica Wiki is basically an online encyclopedia for anything Poptropica related that is editable by any user. The wiki, of which I am the head of, partnered with the PHB earlier this year, which is why I am here! :D

Alright now that you know a little about the Poptropica Wiki, here’s the news. Some of you may know about our mission to Officialize Poptropica Wiki or basically have the Creators endorse the wiki and help us out being sure that pages are all correct. You may also know that Poptropica Wiki is hosted on the site Wikia (similar to how the PHB is hosted on WordPress). Well, a few admins over on the wiki have talked about moving our site from Wikia to Gamepedia. There’s multiple reason for this move, but the main reason is one involving an before mentioned topic. The officialization of the wiki.

Gamepedia (like Wikia) hosts multiple wikis (online encyclopedias for a topic that are editable by anyone), but on Gamepedia the majority of the wikis hosted are made official wikis by the creators of the games these wikis are made about. This would mean we have a good chance of being officialized. In fact, a community manager at Gamepedia (in our accepted request to be moved to Gamepedia) mentioned that they’d be willing to help us in our quest for officialization!

• Ultimate iPad Expert •

Hey Poptropicans! The Creators recently posted a “super early” sketchpad sneak peek on their blog, featuring a bunch of Poptropicans seemingly eating something in a winter setting, with a sled and Oliver from the Poptropica comics near the center. Take a look:

This seems to be for the second book in the Poptropica graphic novel series, for which the working title is The Secret Society – check out the Q&A we had with Poptropica for more details! (The first book, of course, is Mystery of the Map, which also has its own island.)

Over on the Daily Pop, we’ve been seeing sneak peeks for what appears to be the prison-centric “Pelican Rock” island we’ve mentioned before. From the pics, it looks like it’s set in a seaside city with sushi and ferries, while inside the jail, we’ll be crawling through the cooks’ vents, dodging guard towers, creeping on birds’ nests, and more.

Also, if you like making Poptropica fan art or writing fan fiction (or simply browsing either one), or if you enjoyed the PHB’s recent HPuterpop Fan Art contest, check out We-Love-Poptropica on deviantArt! You’ll get to see Poptropica art like this drawing I recently made of the PHB team…

We-Love-Poptropica is a big (but not too big) community of Poptropicans posting Poptropica-related creations, and it’s a good way to get your Poptropica fan work out there (we also handpick some POPCORN magazine entries through the gallery!). As a plus, I was recently made an admin there. :)

Yesterday, the Poptropica app received an unexpected update. Read on below for more details!

The first thing you’ll notice is the new app icon featuring Dr. Hare holding a balloon. It’s not a big deal but it’s awesome to point out. :)

More on the update, Timmy Failure Island is now added to the Map. It’s not yet open to all players but it bears an important message. You can now enter the code “BURRITO” to unlock the Señor Burrito follower! 

More on the update, Poptropica has added three new mobile exclusive costume packs to the Store! They’re not for free but are available for $0.99. The Dangerous Agents Pack contains the Secret Agent, Hazmat Suit and Reporter costumes; the Athletes pack contains the Wrestler, Gymnast and Track Star costumes; and the World and Space Explorers pack contains the Space Suit, Safari Suit and Miner costumes. That’s all of the updates on the app! :)

Speaking of the Poptropica app, PHB reader Anonymous told me that there was a new ad on the app. It’s the CapriSun PushPlay ad! The app doesn’t appear for me, though. (It is probably due to it being exclusive to players in US or maybe within an age group.) Credits to Anonymous for providing the pictures! :)

Speaking of advertisements, there are new Captain Underpants prizes waiting for you when you log-in to Poptropica! The smelly and superb prizes are the Stink Power and the Super Hero cape! The Stink Power shows the Captain Underpants logo and then your player farts after saying “Say hello to my stinky friends!” while the Super Hero cape flies you up and across your screen with the logo!

There’s also a Disney Infinity 3.0 advertisement featuring the teaser for the 3.0 update. You just need to watch the trailer and you’ll receive the Disney Infinity Gear with matching shades!

Heyyo Poptropicans! It’s Ultimate iPad Expert here to bring you the latest Poptropican news. Lotsa unrelated stuff has been happening recently, but I’m here to bring it to you in one post anyways. *thumbs up* *ding*

To start off, this past week’s Timmy Failure prize was the release of the island’s common room, called Maury’s Museum of World Records, which contains multiple wacky world records. And Timmy Failure creator, Stephan Pastis, is showing off some of his comedy in the room, in the seemingly missing “Most Delicious Donut”.

Don’t forget you can also redeem the code BURRITO for a Señor Burrito Follower!

Speaking of Timmy Failure wackiness, the Creators recently posted a little sneak peek of the upcoming island, featuring a car crashed into a house:

In other news, Poptropica was recently temporarily down for maintenance starting Thursday afternoon, the Creators seemed to have everything up and running the following day (Friday morning). :D Hopefully whatever the problem was is all good now, or perhaps they were just working on adding some new stuff behind the scenes.

Lastly, this may not be new news to everyone, but the Creators have finally acknowledged Home Island (or Hub Island or Tutorial, whatever you call it) on their blog, for the first time since releasing it two weeks ago. Black Widow talked a little about the New You shop on the island, and some of the cool features available in the New You shop.

• Ultimate iPad Expert •

Hi Gs,

I’m going to explain this theory in a similar order to how it unraveled in my mind – it all started with 24 Carrot Island. Updating the wiki has allowed me to go through the islands with a keener eye, creating pages for every character named or unnamed in each island quest. One thing I noticed was something inside the the carrot farmer’s house.

There are two pictures, one hanging on the wall and one fallen off. The first is a picture of a carrot, but the second is a picture of a man. I zoomed in on this and found that the man has very similar features to the farmer – however, it seems fairly narcissistic to put up a picture of solely yourself in your own home. So we can assume that this character shown in the picture is someone else. But who? I say pilgrims from Early Poptropica Island. But how would the farmer be a descendant if the pilgrims are still pixelated and living in their lifestyle in the same time frame?

If we accept that 24 Carrot Island is based in present time, then the pictures not being in color would mean that they are pretty old. This leads me to my second point.

We never actually got confirmation that 24 Carrot Island was in present time, I just presumed considering it’s relatively similar features – but if you really take into account all the attributes of the island, it would make sense that 24 Carrot was based in 1960. The style of the diner is unique to that time frame, and the theater is playing movies such as Night of the Living Carrots. This is a reference to the movie Night of the Living Dead, which came out in 1970.

The advertisement on the side of the Factory is reminiscent of ads from that time period. And there was a financial crisis followed by a boom in America around this period as well (if you don’t remember, there was a financial crisis on 24 Carrot Island). So, what does this mean – other than further supporting my time machine theory? Well, we have a sure time frame for when 24 Carrot Island takes place, which means that the pilgrims of Early Poptropica Island are out of place. Especially if we accept the theory about the farmer being a descendant of the pilgrims.

So, let’s rethink the Time Tangled incident. On Shark Tooth Island, Professor Pendulum is already on vacation before you solve the time issue. This means that time could have been mixed up on Shark Tooth/Early Poptropica. In fact, it’s proven with the Greek warrior on the top of the Tourist Center.

But how much is mixed up? Well, we can tick off the pilgrims, and even the medicine man (check out this theory to understand what I mean). However, how far can this go? What’s the major conflict on Shark Tooth Island? The Great Booga Shark. Now, how would that modern civilization be built with the shark roaming the waters? It simply couldn’t. So let’s take a closer look at one of the temple rooms:

This room has a few things to comment on. The skeleton of a “great beast”  lies in a small hallway, that connects to a spiked pit. It almost looks like a sacrificial Booga shark room, what with the golden Booga shark statue that’s not seen elsewhere.

If we take a look at the skeleton, there aren’t any distinguishable limbs, and it actually looks a lot like the Great Booga Shark... In fact, it’s almost identical. As for the shark swimming, the waters were probably much higher at one point, considering the statue’s base is way above the water line.

But HP, you say: Booga sharks might just be a species of sharks that live near Shark Tooth. Well, that could be the case, but on the drawings on the wall in the trophy room, a shark (the one with the neckband) is prevalent. Also, the fruit bat man‘s wording (the “great beast”) is seemingly provocative of the Great Booga Shark. All in all, I find this theory to be way more fun. :P

I’ll be revisiting the pilgrims and more Early Poptropica weirdness later. :)

Heyyo Poptropicans, it’s Ultim8 iPad Expert here with some news on Poptropica’s 8th birthday! The Creators’ took to their blog to explain a little about what’s happening for this year’s celebration. For one, it seems we’ll be getting more giveaways, which for a birthday could be some really epic prizes. They also mentioned “games”, which I’m not sure about really. Does this mean some sort of birthday mini-game or something? Who knows?

I’m excited to see what Poptropica does for this year’s birthday suit, but so have Slip and HP. Andrew tweeted out an 8th birthday suit design originally created by SR, as well as his own version of the design:

So that’s all for the 8th birthday so far, but I wanted to give a little update from the Poptropica Wiki. If you’ve visited there recently, you may have noticed our new logo and design:

The design is still under development, but figured I’d show it off to you guys since I think it’s pretty awesome. Big thanks to Anddrewwiles (aka HPuterpop) and Ylimegirl for helping to make the new design a reality.

I’m doing a very special post for everyone today! Well, the most wonderful time of the year is here, and no, it’s not Christmas – it’s Poptropica’s 8th Birthday!

This year’s celebration is quite different from our traditional one. Remember the pixel Prized Porker we saw last week? As you can guess, it does have something to do with this year’s celebrations!

For the first time ever, Poptropica is going to add a World Champions live map for a classic Poptropica island: Early Poptropica! Not only that, members and non-members can compete against the crown of being a top finisher for the first ever Poptropica island. And if it’s your first time finishing EP, you’ll get 200 credits instead of the typical 150! Isn’t that the best thing ever?

The race is on starting 1pm EST on Tuesday, Sept 15th! If you need a walkthrough, check out our Early Poptropica Island Guide (or our trivia page for a Quick Guide!).

The yearly balloon hunt is now on as well! This year’s prize is different from past years. Once you pop the 8th birthday balloon in common rooms, you will receive the 8-bit Birthday Pixel Pig Power! (What a long name!) Happy hunting!

Hey guys, BT here to let you all know that Timmy Failure Island is now open for members for Early Access! As for you non-members out there, don’t worry, there’s a demo available – plus, the island releases to the public on October 6th (strangely, a Tuesday) according to Poptropica’s Twitter!

There’s no written guide yet for Timmy Failure Island, but stay tuned for it! In the meantime, if you prefer a video walkthrough from everyone’s favorite pirate snack, Captain Crawfish, here it is!

This island was a lot of fun for me. There was one moment that pretty much… stole the show for me; it made the whole island. I give props – I didn’t know much about Timmy Failure, and I was able to learn a bit from this island about who the characters were before I met them. This is my favorite sponsored island with the drawing style of the original source.

Hey everyone! Long time no see! I’ve been really busy in real life with stuff and haven’t had time to post – but I’m back now! Anyway, let’s get to the post!

Over the past month or so, there have been some Daily Pops suggesting a prison-themed island (refer to the Daily Pop Archive or Fishy’s post for previous ones)! All the Daily Pops for the month of September (so far), and some from August, are featured below – many are prison-themed!

As you can see on the one that’s called “Roadblock”, it looks like there are cops on the roadway and you have to get away from them! Plus, it looks like a prison cell.

“Skylines” looks like a prison near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. BT is predicting the prison is inspired by Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary. The prison name according to the Daily Pop is Pelican Rock, and the name itself derives from the name Alcatraz Island, or Island of the Pelicans.

In the “Plate Armor” picture, there’s a little Easter egg – one of the license plates says “PHB 1”! And, since you’re here, you might have realized that that’s the name of this site, the Poptropica Help Blog. That’s so cool that the PHB will actually be referenced in the game!

I’m totally looking forward to this prison-themed island! Comment with your thoughts!

You may remember from not too long ago when HP started a little contest. His contest brought many talented artist to draw his Poptropican, with the prize of their drawing becoming his new avatar.

Well, everyone seemed to have so much fun with it. I don’t have a whole lot of fan art on my Wiki user page. So, I thought, why don’t I do another? Announcing…

You may make any sort of art. Computer, drawing, sketch, sculpture (although doubt anyone will do that), or whatever else. The piece of art must contain my Poptropican (either with or without the iPad, your choice). Shown below (you can see large versions of each by clicking on them):

• Ultimate iPad Expert •

Hey guys, BT here to share with you something interesting the Creators have been working on. Based on their blog post, it’s going to be a feature for the app with original videos, called Poptropica TV! According to a tweet by Poptropica, it’s coming out next week to the app.

Earlier today on their YouTube channel, the Creators released two new videos! One is a cartoon animation narrated by Shark Guy (glad to see ya back, buddy!) about what sharks are actually like:

At the end of the shark video, the seal man at the end says “Tuna in next week!” There’s no official word yet, but it sounds like these short silly cartoons may be a weekly thing!

The second video is a Draw My Life of everyone’s favorite Mega Fighting Bots geek and Poptropica intern, Gamer Guy! Check it out:

Poptropica has been dropping hints about cartoon animations for a while now via Twitter, and it looks like they were about webtoons with voice acting such as these. What do you think of this first dose? I’m looking forward to what else this’ll bring!

Hey Poptropicans! 

The Poptropica app received another update yesterday! First, the app logo has a brand new look— featuring Dr. Hare and the Sultan’s lamp.

When you enter the world of the app, you’ll still land on Hub Island (which came first to the app, then more recently was added online) – but now the app’s Hub looks more like the online version! Once you enter, you’ll be asked if you’re new to Poptropica. Also, characters have been added in front of buildings to introduce the various buildings.

Before heading on to the next update, the promo code (BURRITO) advertised within the app is still available — catch it before it goes! Enter the code online to receive your own Señor Burrito Follower.

Moving on, there are three new mobile-exclusive costume packs in the Hub Island Store! They are:

• the Greek Gods pack (for boys: Ares, Apollo, Pan), (for girls: Nyx, Artemis, Demeter)
• the Heroes of the Ages pack (for boys: King Arthur, Monkey King, Beowulf), (for girls: Joan of Arc, Queen of Sheba, Amelia Earhart)
• the Pets pack (same for both genders: Cat, Dog, Owl)

Recently on the PHB, Brave Tomato posted about a new feature coming to the app called “Poptropica TV“, with original cartoon videos! Captain Crawfish mentions this on the blog, and Poptropica confirmed on Twitter that the update will be coming to the app next week, but you can watch a couple of the videos in BT’s post.

Hey guys, Spotted Dragon here! Long time no post! I’ll hold off on the whole sorry, school, work, life, etc. speech. Let’s just get right to it. :P

Well, the Creators just added a cool new feature to the game, specifically on Home Island. What is this great new feature you ask? The title of this post says it all: a photo booth! Upon visiting the island, you can find the photo booth next to the Shop. Thanks to Ultimate iPad Expert for the all the pictures!

Once inside, you will be greeted by a panel of buttons on the left of your screen. They are all labeled in the picture below.

The best part about the photo booth is that you can change the entire scene all on your own, including the characters, props, backgrounds, and more! You can either start from scratch, or edit a pre-made template.

And don’t worry… the photo booth is available for everyone! So what are you waiting for? Go to Poptropica now to try it out for yourself. It’s right on Main Street of Home Island (also called Hub or Tutorial Island).

I don’t know about you guys, but I really liked this update. However it’s still new, so I hope more tools get added, such as being able to add your friends to the picture, an undo button (although the trash button works well for deleting props), a way to add unique text, etc.
